Chinese Opera

My 1st time shooting opera on digital. The shots didn't turn out fantastic, perhaps the location matters more beside the eye behind the camera and the lens. I wish i can get a chance to shoot at KA's people again because there's a proper stage and theater lighting. And the most important, i think the performers are very professional even though i don't understand whatever they sing on the stage front.

Mother's day 09

Family lunch at chinatown few weeks ago. After lunch, we headed for the popular desserts shop. Mr siew started drawing first. Perhaps his designer gf influences him to be creativity even when it comes to food! Ha ha Silly silly...

Got mum a pink carnation bouquet this year from bestful's shop. 

She was very happy and said that it must have cost me alot hor. 

I replied it's okay, yi nian yi chi.

Farewell lunch

We had a lunch get together in office. It was meant to be a farewell before i leaves. I rather thankful for having such caring colleagues who actually make it a point to plan some farwell thingy. Supposedly today is my last day at work. I should be feeling happy that I'm leaving but I'm not. Mixed feeling bah. Anyway a few days ago, my creative director asked me what is my plans after friday etc. And asked if i can help out for another 2 wks become the replacement comes in.

Needless to say, i nodded my head. I'm very sure i was dreaming then or i'm just too kind and grateful to them :p Haha I'm just hoping that the next 2 weeks will zoom pass soon. Looking forward to the luxury of me time, meeting my loved ones, exploring new places (i really wish to go backpacking somewhere) basically doing whatever i want (:

I've been telling myself 2 wks is nothing as compared to my 14 months here (: Just got another new brief this afternoon, gonna stay positive till the last lap.

ANOTHER 2 MORE WEEKS TO GO (:

Interview at SIM went pretty smoothly. Had a good 45 mins long session with the angmoh lecturer and the other resident lecturer. The positive feedback, the sense of satisfaction and achievement that keep me going (: I'm looking forward to start school once again (:

Ignore this post. I just have to rant and let it out of my chest otherwise i will become bonkers..

I'm disgusted by the guys working attitude today. I don't have respect for people like this. What's the big deal of being a senior brand executive. You don't even have a proper work flow at work. You don't even know how to write a inspiring design brief. You don't even check through the documents just click forward and send to designers. Client chase you, you chase designers. What is work in progress meeting for? Always going out for long lunches with bosses and those nonsense sweet talk to brainwash them. You think I'm a 3 year old? Come on, if you think you are capable jolly well prove that you have what it takes to be a senior. And don't become the main reason why one after one designer decides to leave. For a simple reason, we had enough of your disgusting working attitude and life is so much better without you destroying our passion, our life.

I have never been so angry and disgusted before. Since you love to achieve your goals with dirty methods, continue as you wish. We shall see who tahan this. Save me from this place... in another 6 more days (:

6 more days to my last day (: Looking forward to next friday yet on the other hand i wish time can slow down for a while. Have been working late for the past few days, yet i still think time it's not enough. Looking at the WIP, i do have way the most projects on hands. 12 projects to be exact :P There's just too many deadlines and work to be done before i hand over. I'm feel so unprepared for the mon's interview. Aiyoyo, shall make full use every seconds. Going to work on my portfolio rationale now. Good night folks!

Total damages at Pageone warehouse sale: 100 bucks ! It's a pretty good deal as most books are on 50% discount. I purchased 4 books under 100 bucks. Think about how much profit they earn from selling the books at u.p from $60 to $80 for most graphic design books :/

On a lighter note, I need to start saving up for the HK trip in close to a month time. Hoping for the swine flu to die down soon. Take care folks.

The Southern Ridges with love

We conquered 2/3 ofthe southern ridges on labour day! We walked about 5.78km (half of the journey under the blazing sun!) And i realised Hortpark is the hottest park as compared to the rest. We completed the forest walk, marang traill, faber walk, alexandra arch, henderson waves, floral walk, hortpark and hilltop walk :)

Thank you drew and the 2 packets of sugercane we bought from the hawker centre. I almost thought i will never make it back to the car! I was so happy at that very moment when we reached the carpark. Haha

Farewell?

Katemoss fragance.
My farewell gift from my motherly studio manager Gena. Very sweet of her (: she's like a mother who will text me in the morning when she buys breakfast for me and remind me to go home early. We gossip with another female collegue about everything another the sun. I don't know if it's because I'm a xiao mei to them thus those that I'm closer to take really good care of me for the past year.

And just yesterday morning, gena called to tell she that she saw the page one warehouse sale. During the evening, william called to tell me about the sale as the books i always wanted to buy is on 50% sale! On a lighter note, the office is very quiet after he left. Maybe because we used to chit chat while working on mac since the 2 other designers don't really speak much. But I'm happy for him as much as he is glad that I'm leaving in another 2 weeks time (we managed to survive the battle after going through the same shit :P)

It's confirmed aft a long discussion with my creative directors. I hope they are happy for my decision to further study and i really hope to improve myself as a designer. It's tough but I will never know until try.

I am a little sad to leave for some reason, but all good things must come to an end before more new things can start : )
